Mario Lopez Replaces existing hosts on ‘Extra’

Thirty four year old Mario Lopez, who has rightly served as a correspondent for the syndicated entertainment newsmagazine and co-hosted its weekend edition since January 2007, will replace co-hosts namely Mark McGrath and Dayna Devon. This bit of information has been revealed by the producers of the program “Extra" themselves.

More news about Mario Lopez has been inferred by a multiple sources. According to them, McGrath was asked to release from his contract to focus on his band titled Sugar Ray. Recently this band is recording a new album. He continued to perform with the band while on "Extra."

Commenting about Mario Lopez, Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey, senior executive producer of “Extra”, said, he is a "rising star with a winning personality both on- and off-camera."

Mario Lopes has an outstanding career. This one-time finalist on "Dancing with the Stars" is appearing on Broadway in a revival of the musical titled “A Chorus Line”. In fact he was named as "Hottest Bachelor" of 2008 by a popular magazine of United States. His early credits include the sitcom titled "Saved by the Bell."

Mario Lopez will do the job of anchor on Sept. 15 when the show will start its fiftieth season.
