Looking as if the recent A-Rod affair/divorce rumors have taken their toll, Madonna was looking a bit run down as she was spotted leaving the Kabbalah Center in New York City on Friday evening (July 25).
The Material Girl was accompanied by daughter Lourdes Leon and sons Rocco and David, and she opted against covering her face from the cameras as she had done so the previous week.
Of her rumored declining health, a source close to the singer revealed to Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “Madonna is doing less than OK. She has been rehearsing for the tour and she is totally miserable. She’s down physically and mentally.”
The insider added: “The situation with Guy is very, very tense. The way everyone is going crazy with the A-Rod story, her brother’s book and her physical exhaustion are all taking their toll. She feels nobody has taken her side.”

Jessica Alba: Shopping in Beverly Hills
Taking time away from her newfound motherhood, Jessica Alba was spotted doing some shopping in Beverly Hills, California yesterday afternoon.
And the “Good Luck Chuck” babe seemed none too happy that the paparazzi caught up with her as she held her head down and tried to avoid the shutterbugs.
Alba even stopped into a toy store, picking up a couple of dump truck toys and looking cute in a white collared top with black trousers and a pair of woven black heels.
As for her daughter Honor Marie, don’t expect to see her doing kid acting campaigns - Jess told press that they’ll hold her back from pursuing celebrity until she’s out of school.
“When she finishes college, she can do whatever she wants.” She also noted that it may be a struggle. “I think at some point all little kids express that desire, because they’re so used to being treated like a star.”

Salma Hayek Helps Valentina Learn to Walk
She may be only 10 months old, but Valentina Paloma Pinault is going places! And mommy Salma Hayek couldn’t be more thrilled.
The “From Dusk Til Dawn” actress was spotted helping her baby daughter walk across the lawn yesterday in Los Angeles, California, looking beautiful in a swirly blue cleavage-baring summer dress.
Hayek recently split from her French billionaire fiancé Francois-Henri Pinault due to the fact that they had been spending a lot of time apart and both wanted different things.
And she seems to be doing quite well with her new single status, choosing to focus all of her time on her adorable baby daughter.
There were signs that things were headed south between Salma and Francois-Henri when she told press earlier this year, “I don’t have a need for marriage. You want to grow old with someone, you want to have a partner and to have children - we have all those things. Some people need the commitment. Maybe we’ll just have the party!”

The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” hottie also took her brother Rob’s girlfriend Adrienne Bailon shopping at Rumor boutique before grabbing lunch at Maria’s Italian Kitchen.
Later on, Kim was spotted returning to her car after spending a short time at the Crescent Hotel. And she looked stunning in a halter-style floor-length silk summery dress as she texted on her mobile phone.

Matthew McConaughey’s Family Stroll
Looking very much like the picture of happy family, Matthew McConaughey, his girlfriend Camila Alves and their son Levi were spotted going for a family stroll yesterday near their Malibu, California home.
The 2-week-old baby was securely strapped into his stroller while Papa Matthew carried a basket on top of his head, and Mama Camila wore a skin tight re-shaper dress to get back to her pre-baby form.
The “Fool’s Gold” stud recently recounted the exciting, albeit unconventional, scenario into which little Levi was born.
He told press, “Contractions started kicking in, and we found a great rhythm. I sat there with her, right between her legs. We got tribal on it. We danced to it! I was DJ-ing this Brazilian music. We were jamming!”

Paris Hilton Takes Marilyn Monroe Shopping
Giving her famous Chihuahua Tinkerbell a break, Paris Hilton scooped up her pet Pomeranian Marilyn Monroe and headed off on a shopping spree yesterday (July 25).
The “Hottie and the Nottie” babe was spotted spending money like it was going out of style on Robertson Boulevard in Beverly Hills, stopping into Diavolina boutique for a few bags’ worth of clothing.
And Paris understands the importance of looking good while clothes shopping, as evidenced by her elegant black and white striped floor-length halter-style summer dress complete with matching black peep-toe heels.
According to her “Repo! The Genetic Opera” director Darren Lynn Bousman, Miss Hilton has turned over a new leaf since meeting boyfriend Benji Madden. “When she told me she had met this guy and was in love, I said, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever.’ But then I went to her house and it’s obvious to tell she’s a changed woman.”
And Paris concurs. “I feel like I’m really grown up. I’m an adult now. I’m in a really great relationship and in love, so I stay home a lot.”

Molly Sims: Better Late than Never
If there’s one thing celebrities are known for, it’s being late to pretty much everything. And last night Molly Sims had a real doozy of a late arrival at her own party.
“Hamptons” magazine held a reception for the model/actress at The Lodge in East Hampton to celebrate her appearance on the cover of their latest issue.
And while the schedule said Sims would arrive at 6:30pm, she didn’t show her face until 9:30pm, claiming car trouble. The party planners reportedly received updates from Molly during those three hours, but inside sources reveal that she may have been enjoying dinner with her family in Montauk at the Surf Lodge.
When she finally showed up, Sims looked stunning in a shiny copper-colored top with a black skirt, and although the magazine had only reserved the private section of The Lodge til 9:30pm, they were able to get an extra hour so that she could greet her guests.

Indian Hotels goes to China
Mumbai, July 25: The Tatas are taking their hoteliering expertise to China.
Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) – the group’s hotels and hospitality arm – has signed a partnership with Cuiting Hotspring Hotel Management Company Ltd to run two properties in China. This is not only IHCL’s first foray into China, but it is also the first Indian hospitality chain to forge a partnership in the country.
Under the deal between Taj International Hong Kong Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of IHCL, and Cuiting, which is a subsidiary of Zhong Qi International Investment Company, the Tatas will operate the latter’s Temple of Heaven Park property in Beijing and the Hainan hotel project.
The first site is close to the landmark heritage site of The Temple of Heaven where a deluxe luxury hotel with 46 rooms is to be developed in traditional Chinese style. Sixty rooms will be added shortly thereafter. The first phase is expected to be ready in around six months.
A major tourist destination, The Temple of Heaven Park, also known as Tiantan park, is a UNESCO world heritage site. It was constructed between 1406 and 1420. It was used by the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties.
The Zhong Qi group is also planning to develop a 500-key resort across 60 acres in Hainan land, the premium resort destination in China. This site is expected to be ready in another three years.
Raymond Bickson, managing director of IHCL, said the company was attaching huge importance to these projects.
China, which is amongst the top 10 global tourism markets in the world, saw 135 million tourists last year. IHCL believes that the partnership will not only benefit its overseas customers, but also the 10 million outbound Indians. “One cannot become a global brand without looking what both countries will bring to the table,” Bickson said.

SpiceJet renegotiating Boeing deal
Faced with huge losses owing to a slowdown in passenger traffic and higher fuel and operating costs, the Delhi-based low cost air carrier SpiceJet on Saturday said it was re-negotiating its deal with Boeing.
"We are re-negotiating our deal with Boeing now. We prefer sub-leasing aircraft either through wet sub-lease or dry sub-lease," said Samyukta Sridharan, a senior executive officer of SpiceJet. Wet sub-lease comes with pilot and crew while in case of dry sub-lease, it is only the aircraft.
This move to step back from earlier decision to buy aircraft from Boeing comes despite the US billionaire investor W.L. Ross infused Rs.34.5 billion ($821.4 million) in the airline July 16. SpiceJet is understood to have delayed the purchase of seven of the 30 aircraft it ordered in 2005.
The airline is currently operating 14 planes, delivered between 2005 and 2007. SpiceJet's load factor last month was 78 percent against 90 percent in June last year.
Earlier this week, Boeing senior vice-president Dinesh Keskar here ruled out any Indian carrier deferring on deliveries of new aircraft. SpiceJet had ordered all its aircraft from the Boeing.
According to airline sources, a few other Indian low-cost airlines also plan to cancel or cut deliveries of new aircraft or to sub-lease them.
However, scheduled carriers like Air India and Jet Airways are expected to take deliveries of its new aircraft as scheduled.
But the Vijay Mallya-promoted Kingfisher Airlines has reportedly deferred plans to buy 29 narrow-bodied A320s, which it committed to purchase from Airbus last year.
The company is in talks with international carriers to sell two of the five A340-500 aircraft it had committed to buy from Airbus last year. The airline may also defer taking deliveries of 29 narrow-bodied A320s, airline sources said.
Kingfisher spokespersons were not available for comment. The airline has about 20 deliveries scheduled every year till 2012, but schedules would be revised.
Kingfisher currently has 84 aircraft, next only to the fleet strength of the Naresh Goyal-promoted Jet Airways, which has 87 aircraft.

No nuts during pregnancy
Eating nuts during pregnancy can be harmful (Getty Images).
Gorging on nuts or nut products like peanut butter regularly during pregnancy may not be a good idea for expectant mothers, for this may actually make their children more prone to allergies like asthma.
This new study from the Netherlands has cited that such a regime of regular intake of nut products can actually increase their children''s risk of developing asthma by more than 50 percent over women who rarely or never consume nut products during pregnancy.
"We were pretty surprised to see the adverse associations between daily versus rare nut product consumption during pregnancy and symptoms of asthma in children, because we haven''t seen this in similar previous studies," said Saskia M. Willers, M.Sc, the study''s lead author.
Not only did Willers said that it was "too early to make recommendations of avoidance," she also noted that "it''s important for pregnant women to eat healthily, and what is true for many foods is that too much is never good."
She said that maternal consumption of allergenic foods during pregnancy may increase the risk that the foetuses they carry would become sensitized to certain allergens, however the research on the topic, has been contradictory and inconclusive till date.
This Prevention and Incidence of Asthma and Mite Allergy study conducted by the Dutch government conducted a dietary questionnaire on almost 4,000 expectant mothers and asked how often they consumed vegetables, fresh fruit, fish, eggs, milk, milk products, nuts and nut products during the last month.
They also analysed their children''s diets at two years of age, and their asthma and allergy symptoms were assessed yearly until eight years of age. This led the researchers to have complete data for 2,832 children and their mothers by the end of the eight years.
"The only consistent association between the maternal intake of the investigated food groups during pregnancy and childhood asthma symptoms until eight years of age that we found was with nut products. Daily versus rare consumption of nut products—which we assumed was largely peanut butter—was consistently and positively associated with childhood asthma symptoms, including wheeze, dyspnea, doctor diagnosed asthma and asthma-associated steroid use," said Willers.
This association remained even after controlling for the child''s diet. Besides, the authors pointed out that there was a small effect of daily maternal fruit consumption during pregnancy on reducing the risk of wheeze in children, but other factors such as health-consciousness and consumption of prenatal vitamins may have been contributing factors in ways that were undetectable in this study''s design.
"These findings emphasize the critical important of additional investigations into the environmental exposures for both mother and child that underlie the pathogenesis of asthma. It is important, however, to emphasize that such associations do not confirm a causative linkage," said John E. Heffner, M.D., past president of the American Thoracic Society.
Willers said that while a strict low-allergen diet is not recommended for most expectant mothers because it risks both maternal and fetal malnutrition, peanuts may be the exception to that general recommendation.
"Peanut is a potent allergen, and peanut allergy is associated with anaphylactic shock and is less likely to be outgrown than other allergies,” she added.

Anti-tobacco aid by world's richest
NEW DELHI: India and China's cash strapped anti-tobacco campaigns and cessation programmes are all set to get a hefty push. Two of the world's richest men - Michael Bloomberg and Bill Gates - on Thursday pledged $500 million to combat the global tobacco epidemic, most of which will be spent in low and middle-income countries such as China, India, Indonesia, Russia and Bangladesh.
Both Bloomberg and Gates called for raising taxes on tobacco products, making it unaffordable for the poor, banning cigarette advertisement, creating smoke-free spaces and curbing exhibition of cigarette smoking heroes in movies as they tend to become role models for teenagers.
Health Minister A Ramadoss has already called on Shah Rukh Khan to stop smoking on screen and has written to Finance Minister P Chidambaram to raise taxes and excise duty on cigarettes and other tobacco products besides announcing a ban on smoking in public places including offices from October 2.
While announcing their initiative to reduce tobacco use, Gates and Bloomberg said that unless urgent action was taken against tobacco consumption, as many as one billion people - more than two-thirds of them in the developing world - could die from tobacco-caused illnesses this century.
In addition to the grant, the Gates Foundation will also support complementary efforts to reduce high rates of tobacco use in countries such as China and India, as well as help prevent the tobacco epidemic from taking root in Africa.
The foundation also plans to accelerate implementation of the MPower package of proven tobacco control strategies and build economic evidence to support tobacco control over the next two years.
The six components of the package include monitoring tobacco use and the policies to prevent it, protecting people from tobacco smoke, offering people help to quit tobacco use, warning about the dangers of tobacco, enforcing bans on tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship and raising taxes on tobacco.
The tobacco epidemic in India is serious. An estimated 250 million people use tobacco in some form. Each year, nearly 1 million Indians die from tobacco-related diseases. India is also projected to have the fastest increase in tobacco-related deaths over the next 20 years compared to any other country. In India, almost half (47%) of adult men and one in seven adult women (14%) use tobacco.
Some facts
-One in 4 adults smokes tobacco globally
-Smoking kills half of smokers unless they quit
-Those killed by tobacco lose on an average 10-15 years of life
-Second-hand smoke causes lung disease, cancer, low birth weight and increased infant death
-More than 5 million people are killed by tobacco each year - more than AIDS, TB and malaria combined
-More than 80% of the world's tobacco-related deaths will be in low- and middle-income countries by 2030

Kristin Cavallari Hosts Brother Jimmy’s Grand Opening
It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that if you want to have a successful grand opening, you hire a hot blonde celebrity to play hostess. And that’s’ why Brother Jimmy’s BBQ called up Kristin Cavallari.
The “Laguna Beach” babe was spotted at the Grand Opening of Brother Jimmy’s Murray Hill restaurant in New York City last night, looking fine in a grey off-the shoulder belted t-shirt dress with black heels.
