Boston (ChattahBox) - Tattoos are a part of our culture in the U.S., as around 25% of Americans aged 18 to 30 have a tattoo somewhere on theihr body. According to a new study thought, women are more likely than men to have second thoughts about their tattoo and try to get it removed.
Women apparently are more likely to have second thoughts about the “ink” that they put on their body.
For the study, researchers led by Myrna Armstong of Texas Tech University went to tattoo removal clinics in Colorado, Massachusetts, Arizona, and Texas.
They found at these clinics that two-thirds of those who were getting a tattoo removed were women.
The reasons for women wanting to get rid of the tattoos included negative comments, embarrassment, etc. Many were also unhappy that they could not cover it with clothing.
In the next few years, the number of people aged 18 to 30 with tattoos is expected to jump to 40%, and with that the number of women wanting them removed may increase.
The women stated that they were happy with their tattoo when they first got it, but grew unhappy over time.
The study was published in the journal Archives of Dermatology.

Dark Knight storms the world
Hundreds of Bat-fans descended on London's Leicester Square for the European premiere of The Dark Knight.
Already a smash hit in the US, the latest installment in the Batman franchise, set a record at the United States box office, smashing last year's Spiderman 3 record.
On top of the box office success Heath Ledger's depiction of the Joker is already generating Oscar buzz and Christian Bale's tortured hero is even more intense than before.
"The thing that's good with this one, it had a lot of hype about it, but the hype is real, it really is a bloody good movie," said Christian Bale, actor.
Veteran actor Michael Caine, who plays Alfred Pennyworth the faithful butler to multi-billionaire Bruce Wayne, was also pleased with the films success.
"I was talking to one of producers and she said she went to a cineplex in the outskirts of New York and there were 18 cinemas all playing Batman and they were all full and so we must have done something right somewhere along the way but I saw the movie and I think it's wonderful." said Caine.
You know, this is just one part of Heath but he is so extraordinary in the movie, I think it is a wonderful way to honour that part of him," said Maggie Gyllenhaal, actress.
The Dark Knight released in the UK on July 25.

BSNL Offers Landline At Rs.20 Per Month
There was a time when landlines dominated the Indian telephone sector. With the advent of the ubiqutous mobile and subsequent cut-throat competition, tariffs have dropped and the mobile phone is now no longer considered a luxury. With mobile penetration even reaching remote corners of the country, the landline is struggling to maintain a loyal user base - even in rural India!
In a bid to lure users from the rural markets, BSNL has recently announced a plan in Uttar Pradesh where users have to pay a monthly installment of Rs. 20. Another option BSNL offers is a payment of Rs 200 at one time eliminating the monthly charge. With this offer, customers can avail of 20 free calls per month. With Bollywood star Preity Zinta endorsing the brand, BSNL sure hopes to strikle it rich in the landline telephone section.
As of now, this plan is offered only to selected rural areas in Uttar Pradesh, perhaps as a testing ground. If things go well, we could soon see this plan being extended to rural areas in other parts of the country.

Top-Earning Female Athletes
By Tom Van Riper and Kurt Badenhausen, Forbes.com
They’ve come a long way, baby. A handful of them, anyway.
When it comes to making money in sports, women are narrowing the gap with men, at least at the top of the pyramid. For women, the highest-paid athletes come almost exclusively from tennis and golf, where prize money and endorsement dollars flow overwhelmingly to the brightest stars.
In contrast, women’s basketball and soccer are still a long way from producing the next LeBron James or David Beckham.
Golfers Annika Sorenstam, Michelle Wie and Lorena Ochoa have broken into eight-figure earnings territory, a testament to the LPGA’s efforts to globalize. The women’s tour not only has top golfers from numerous countries (Sorenstam is from Sweden, Ochoa from Mexico, while Wie is Korean-American, born in Hawaii), but has made a point to broaden its international appeal by holding more events for players in their home markets.
“The tour has a much more international flavor to it,” says David Carter of the Sports Business Group, an industry consultant.
Women’s tennis has been on the upswing a lot longer, dating back to Billie Jean King’s victory over Bobby Riggs in a 1973 match appropriately named “The Battle of the Sexes.”
The publicity from that match led to the Women’s Tennis Association’s first major national television contract, just in time for Chris Evert to blossom as the first TV star of the women’s game.
A little bit later, when attendance and television ratings held firm for the prime years of Martina Navratilova, Hana Mandlikova and Pam Shriver, it was clear that the public was ready for strong, hard-hitting women, and an international players roster helped ensure a wide audience.
Today, the four highest-paid female athletes in the world are from the tennis circuit: Maria Sharapova (Russia), Serena and Venus Williams (U.S.) and the newly retired Justine Henin (Belgium).
No question, the compelling rivalries of the past decade, particularly between the Williams sisters, have done a lot to overcome occasional obstacles like the 1993 stabbing of Monica Seles, the downfall (and brief return) of Jennifer Capriati and the degeneration of over-marketed Anna Kournikova into a caricature of herself.
Will women’s team-sport athletes ever catch up to men? Probably not any time soon, given the lack of depth that’s tied to a shorter history of organization and development.
It could happen one day, though, Carter thinks, given the consistent, incremental growth of women’s sports and the national trend that has more women in charge of family budgets and entertainment spending.
“The chance does exist, especially as women’s sports get more coverage in the Olympics,” he says.
Olympians and WNBA stars like Diana Taurasi and Lisa Leslie don’t get the same money from Nike that LeBron does, but they’re in the stable. How effectively their personalities are marketed may determine whether the basketball stars of the next generation make their millions or leave the big money to tennis and golf.
The top five:
1. Maria Sharapova
2. Serena Williams
3. Venus Williams
4. Justine Henin
5. Michelle Wie

Rihanna Bio,Biography, Profile
Rihanna is a North American R&B/Soul singer. Most of the worldly population would also classify her as a tradtional dancehall singer; who has splurged onto the entertainment scene unexpectedly.
Rihanna was born on the Caribbean island of Barbados in 1988. Through the years, particularly during her pre-teen and teenage years, she would sing to friends and family only for amusement purposes. One day, a mutual friend of Rihanna introduced her to music producer Evan Rogers, whose home base is in New York.
He asked Rihanna to perform whatever song that came to mind for her. Rogers was obviously suprised on what great talent Rihanna had. Immediately, both Rogers and Rihanna made demos containing close to twelve tracks including the 2005 smash hit Pon De Replay and mailed the demos out to various recording comanies including Def Jam Recordings where Rihanna would eventually be signed onto.
Shawn Carter, also known as simply 'Jay Z' in the urban community, who was recently crowned as the CEO of Def Jam, was enticed by the mature sounds of the talented singer, and immediately started recording for her upcoming LP disc.
Of course Rihanna completed the recording of her LP disc entitled Music Of The Sun. She amazingly did not just sing the notes to the songs that can be heard on the album, she also co-written a majority of them. She has gone to various radio stations around the United States promoting her vivacious single, "Pon De Replay," and her album, which will be released on August 30, 2005.
Rihanna says she is inspired by such artists like Alicia Keys, Beyoncé Knowles and Mariah Carey. She also states that on her album, you'll not only listen to reggae, but you'll hear ballads and other R&B fused tracks. Well, we can't wait

Kourtney Kardashian: Bar Pitti Panty Patrol!
Taking a break from her usual SoCal surroundings, Kourtney Kardashian was spotted enjoying some quality time with her boyfriend Scott Disick in New York City.
The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” babe and her beau exchanged loving glances over a romantic lunch at Bar Pitti on Tuesday (July 22). And Kourtney even flashed the paparazzi with her panties!
And in light of the various scandals and hardships endured by her family, Kourtney told press that they are all supportive of one another.
“In every situation there is a different one [support]. We all handle things differently. We’re all strong. We are all together every day and we’ve always been really close but it definitely makes us closer since we’re together all the time. It’s so fun for people to see how close we are. That’s the one thing people always love about the show.”

New York Islanders Tapping WWE for Possible Players? (Humor)
It was a banner weekend for me this past weekend, getting to go to the Billy Joel concert on Friday and the Great American Bash WWE Event on Sunday.
I was not alone at the WWE event—as many of you may know, Rick DiPietro was there schmoozing with a lot of the WWE Stars.
This next story is a work.
What's not known is that GM Garth Snow was looking for new faces for the Islanders organization. The results of his meeting will astound you. Pictured at right is the newest member of the New York Islanders, Former World Heavyweight Champion John Cena!
From West Newbury, Massachusetts, Cena brings an arrogance and aggressiveness as well as that "do anything to win" mentality that is so lacking up and down the Islanders lineup.
It was not immediately know what position Cena will play, but in an interview he said this, "I am coming to the NHL to do what it is that I do, and that's dominate like only John Cena can."
While this may be the first time in a long time an athlete in the NHL referred to himself in the third person, the shot of attitude may be just what the Islanders need headed into this coming season.
When approached by Snow about his contract demands, Cena responded the only way he knows how:with a finely tuned chair shot right to the GM's head.
When Chris Dey explained to Cena that that type of behaviour is not acceptable in the NHL, Cena responded with one of his trademark "F-U" wrestling maneuvers, driving the unfortunate soul into the concrete back first.
When told of the actions of his new superstar player, owner Charles Wang simply smirked and said, "The guy's got spirit, and he's a true friend." Hey at least it would not be boring.

WWE Raw Hitlist: Batista, John Cena, C.M. Punk, Chris Jericho, D-Lo Brown, Santino Marella, Lance Cade, Beth Phoenix
WWE Raw Hits
John Cena and Batista mix it up: I know there are some jaded internet fans who couldn't care less about this feud, but this is a major happening for casual fans. It's a battle between two of the company's top babyface performers who have been kept away from each other for the most part. My guess is that casual viewers who were disappointed by the C.M. Punk vs. Batista finish moved on quickly and felt the show ended on a high note with Cena and Batista fighting briefly.
Chris Jericho promo: Damn. This guy is sensational. His promo about retiring Shawn Michaels and not feeling any remorse was tremendous. He's arrogant, self-righteous, and obsessed with Shawn Michaels. Brilliant.
Lance Cade vs. Paul London: Cade looked aggressive and I thought London did a nice job of selling for him. It was also good to hear Cade get some mic time. I dig the new look and I think he's well on his way to getting over as Jericho's sidekick.
D-Lo Brown vs. Santino Marella: Nice to see D-Lo back. The live crowd didn't remember his old spots and I thought he wasted too much time looking for their approval, but I'm sure he'll get those moves over again quickly. I don't think anyone forgot the frogsplash finisher and he nailed that. I was also pleased to see Santino hook up with Beth Phoenix afterward. Perhaps she holds the key to him actually winning a few matches.
Paul Burchill and Katie Lea vs. Kofi Kingston and Mickie James: A good television match that furthered two feuds.
WWE Raw Misses
C.M. Punk: I'm worried about Punk. WWE seems very reluctant to let him beat any true main eventer. There's only so over that Punk can get if his biggest wins are against guys like JBL and Kane. I'm fine with Punk playing the vulnerable champion role early, but eventually he needs to get credibility building victories over people who matter or this title reign will be a wasted opportunity.
C.M. Punk vs. Batista finish: WWE was in a tough spot here because they couldn't really give away a clean finish and risk upsetting the fans who paid $40 to watch the pay-per-view the night before. It could be cool if the idea is to build toward a match where there must be a finish and there's no outside interference allowed, but it looks like Batista is moving on to Cena.
John Cena dominates the tag champions: I guess WWE felt the need to have Cena redeem himself after losing to JBL at the pay-per-view. It's just too bad it came at the expense of the young tag team champions. It would have been different if one of the Cryme Tyme members had pinned Ted DiBiase or Cody Rhodes, but watching Cena dominate them and ultimately pin DiBiase was frustrating. By the way, does Cryme Tyme ever get to talk?

John Cena vs. Batista? Not so fast
At the conclusion of Raw last night, John Cena inadvertently punched Batista, which led to an exchange of blows before they were pulled apart.
Could that physical confrontation be setting up a match between the two WWE superstars at SummerSlam next month? It’s possible, but I have a hard time believing that is the case.
There has been speculation that the long-term plan was for Cena versus Batista to headline WrestleMania XXIV this past March, but Cena’s injury necessitated a change in direction. And when Batista was drafted to Raw last month, the move immediately sparked talk of a match between the two at next year’s WrestleMania.
A Cena-Batista match on the biggest show of the year makes sense because it’s one of the few marquee match-ups in WWE that hasn’t been done. That’s why I can’t see WWE giving that match away this early in Batista’s move to Raw. Then again, I didn’t think the Triple H-Edge match would happen as fast as it did.
If last night’s pull-apart was just a tease and WWE is indeed planning to hold off the inevitable match until WrestleMania, the challenge will be in keeping them apart for the next eight months.
The other intriguing aspect of a Cena-Batista match is the question of whether it would be a babyface versus babyface match or if one of them would turn heel. The conventional thinking seems to be that Batista eventually will turn – and he has looked a bit heelish as of late – but I still think a Cena turn would be a big shot in the arm for business in WWE. The crowds have been behind Cena as of late, which means it’s the perfect time to turn him.
One thing for certain about Cena and Batista coming to blows last night is that WWE again came up with an ending that no one saw coming.
Other thoughts on last night’s show:
The curious booking of CM Punk’s world heavyweight title reign continues. In a title rematch from The Great American Bash against Batista last night, Punk either gained or lost credibility, depending on how you look at it. On the one hand, he dominated the match, but Batista was weakened by a chokeslam from Kane immediately before the match began. Batista eventually rallied and the announcers again put over how he was about to defeat Punk.
I wouldn’t say WWE is totally burying Punk, because he isn’t backing down from anyone and he is holding his own against bigger (in size and status) opponents. And the bottom line is that he is still the champion. If I had to guess where this is headed, I’d say that Punk will keep retaining the title on flukes before eventually scoring a clean win over a top star. The question is whether the fans will already have given up on him by that point. …
It looks as if Chris Jericho no longer has to worry about fans cheering for him as a heel. His brutal attack on Shawn Michaels at the Bash struck a nerve, and he followed it up with an excellent promo last night that got him a lot of heat from the crowd. I really liked the part where he talked about returning to WWE and not being embraced by the fans. That’s actually somewhat true, as it seemed like fans were happy to see him come back, but perhaps not as much as he and WWE had hoped. …
Speaking of good promos, Punk has shown that he can do them, which begs the following question: Why didn’t he get more opportunities to talk before now? …
Batista has been booked very well over the past few months. He’s become a Triple H-type babyface – a fan favorite who is obsessed with being the best and isn’t interested in making friends. Somewhere along the way, Batista had become too much of a traditional babyface (remember the lovefest between him and Rey Mysterio?), which made him a less interesting character. …
It was nice that JBL limped to the ring and Cena had his elbow bandaged, but I think they should have done even more to sell their injuries from Sunday’s parking lot brawl. I won’t bother asking how Cena didn’t even get an abrasion after being “grazed” by a speeding car last week. …
It’s great that WWE is trying to give Ted DiBiase Jr., Cody Rhodes and Cryme Tyme a rub by having them involved in the JBL-Cena feud. However, having Cena do a double FU to finish off DiBiase and Rhodes isn’t doing them any favors. …
I don’t know what to say about the Santino Marella-Beth Phoenix liplock, but I’m betting that wherever this angle is going, it will be entertaining. It will be even better if it leads to Marella winning some matches. …
It’s hard to get overly excited about the return of D-Lo Brown, but I always thought he was a decent mid-carder. …
Hacksaw Jim Duggan is a heck of a nice guy, but I personally don’t care to see him wrestle anymore. Judging by the crowd reaction when he said he was thinking about hanging it up, however, I must be in the minority. …
It looks like Jerry Lawler is going to team with Duggan to face DiBiase and Rhodes. I’d rather see Lawler in the role than Hardcore Holly, but it still bothers me from a continuity standpoint that Holly has not sought revenge for Rhodes turning on him. …
Paul Burchill really needed that pinfall victory over Kofi Kingston, even if it did occur in a tag team match. …
Kelly Kelly had a good match with Phoenix and continues to get better in the ring. She is well on her way to becoming WWE’s “it girl.” Actually, she may already be there.

Robert Downey Jr Postpones memoir
There is heartbreaking news for the fans of Robert Downey Jr. He has postponed plans to write a memoir and has even returned his advance to HarperCollins, the publisher. The confirmation of the news came from a spokeswoman who has flashed this important information to the reporters of a famous news agency of United States.
More information about Robert Downey Jr. has been gathered from quite a number of sources. On Tuesday, however, Britney Ross of Rogers & Cowan has declined to disclose the actual reason why Downey would not be writing the book that was originally scheduled to come out this year. HarperCollins had billed it as a "candid look at the highs and lows of his life and career" when the publisher announced the project almost 2 years ago.
Forty three year old Robert Downey Jr. has struggled hard with drug abuse, but has also received much approval for his acting. It includes an Academy Award nomination for his starring role in the film titled "Chaplin" and also strong reviews for his title performance in the film "Iron Man," one of the biggest hits of the year. Next Robert Downey Jr. will be seen in the film "Tropic Thunder," along with Ben Stiller and Jack Black.

Ashanti Gets into Tourism
Sure, she’s sold a ton of albums and sold out concerts all over the world, but that’s not enough for Ashanti. Her latest venture is in the realm of tourism.
The “Mesmerize” songstress was spotted yesterday at the launch event for Nassau county’s new tourism campaign. Being that she’s originally from Long Island, it seemed fitting that she was chosen to become one of nine new ambassadors for the initiative.
And the “Foolish” songbird looked stunning in a short-sleeved cleavage-baring white summer dress with white beaded sandals as she worked the press conference.
Speaking about her invitation to the “Island Next Door” campaign, Ashanti told press that it was “amazing” to be asked to “give something back to the community.”

Maggie Gyllenhaal's Media Ban
Maggie Gyllenhaal has vowed never to read articles printed about her - in a bid to protect herself from harsh media criticism.
The actress hates being followed by the paparazzi on a daily basis because seeing pictures of herself forces her to obsess over her image.
She says, "The amount of scrutiny can be unbearable. It's sometimes really hurtful. I've decided, in order to protect myself, that I'm not going to look at any pictures (of myself) or to pay attention to anything anyone says about me."

Matthew McConaughey Shows Off Baby Levi
With the active lifestyle he maintains, it’s no wonder Matthew McConaughey is such a hottie. And yesterday the new daddy was spotted catching some serious waves on his surfboard.
The “Dazed and Confused” actor grabbed a guy pal and headed out to Malibu for some quality time in the ocean as the paparazzi looked on. And when they finished up, Matthew looked pleased that he’d conquered the waves.
The “Fool’s Gold” stud also spent some time with his uber-buff female personal trainer, getting in plenty of cardiovascular activity with a lengthy jog around town.
McConaughey recently told OK! magazine about the whole experience of his son Levi being born. “We found a great rhythm. Contractions started kicking in. I sat there with her, right between her legs. We got tribal on it, we danced to it! I was DJ-ing this Brazilian music.”
He continued, “I have it all chronicled. Becoming a dad is something I’ve dreamed of doing since I was 10. Becoming a father felt very, very natural. We were jamming! She was sweating. No painkiller, let’s go. She just clicked into that gear that only a woman has at a time like this. We’d been up for 40-something hours, and we went from dead tired to a really steadfast, ‘Let’s handle this… let’s stay in the rhythm. Don’t let the contraction be more than you.’”

Brooke's wrestler dad Hulk used to insist his little girl wasn't left alone with a boy, or even allowed to go on a date.
But as these steamy photos show the 19-year-old aspiring pop star is now in control of her own destiny.
The shots were taken to promote her new reality TV show - Brooke Knows Best.
The teenager found fame in her parents' TV show Hogan Knows Best, but after the collapse of their marriage she has moved into her own home in Miami.
Her attempts at a pop career have been ridiculed in the American press, but this hasn't stopped Brooke from pursuing her ambition, followed by the cameras.
In the VH1 show the six foot-tall blonde goes on her first date and considers getting a tattoo.
The show also shows her parents adjusting to life after their separation.
Brooke's mother Linda filed for divorce from Hulk in November last year after 23 years of marriage.
The couple's relationship was rocked when son Nick, 17, crashed his car while street racing, leaving passenger and family friend John Graziano, 22, with severe brain injuries.
Hulk Hogan was popular as a champion of the World Wrestling Federation in the 1980's and now hosts the NBC game show American Gladiators.

Eva Longoria Keeps Busy with Desperate Housewives
Busily filming the new season of Desperate Housewives, Eva Longoria was spotted taking a break and grabbing a salad for lunch on the set yesterday (July 22).
The “Over Her Dead Body” babe looked cute in her Gabrielle Solis getup, sporting a summery magenta dress along with a pair of matching flip flops.
As for her new hairdo, Eva says it’s all part of prepping for her Housewives gig, along with putting on some extra weight. She told press, “I ate everything in sight - Pasta pappardelle and pizza. Oh, Tony and I went crazy this summer.”
And she reports that her stylist insisted that hubby Tony Parker be involved when it came to cutting her hair. I had to cut my hair for the show because Gabrielle has short hair. I wore a wig in the last episode, but I didn’t want to wear a wig this whole season, so I was like, ‘I’m going to cut it.’ Kenny said, ‘Tony, you’re going to do the first cut, so she can’t be mad at me.’ Tony did the first snip. He did more and then he did more and then Kenny cleaned it up.”

Mariah Carey Takes Over TRL
Looking her usual fabulous self, Mariah Carey ventured out to MTV Studios in New York City on Tuesday for the taping of an appearance on the network’s hit show Total Request Live.
The 38-year-old Grammy Award-winning singer wore a multi-colored pastel skirt with a blue top that showed off her toned tummy, along with matching heels and, of course, plenty of bling.
Meanwhile, recent tabloid reports have alleged that Mimi’s expensive taste has ended up putting her new hubby Nick Cannon in a bt of a financial predicament.
“Nick’s sensitive about being perceived as a kept man, so he’s going out of his way to indulge Mariah with lavish gifts and expensive dinners,” an insider claims.
“And the bottom line is that he just doesn’t have the kind of money she has. It’s starting to stress him out,” the source adds.

Taking advantage of yet another bright, sunny day in Los Angeles, Rachel Bilson stepped out for a lunch outing at the Mustard Seed Cafe on Tuesday afternoon (July 22).
The “Jumper” actress looked cute in a white tanktop with a black vest overtop, along with charcoal jeans and a pair of sandals as she chatted with a friend throughout the course of her meal.
As for her career, Miss Bilson, 26, has decided to put acting on hold so that she may pursue another endeavor - her new fashion line, Edie Rose for DKNY Jeans.
“This line is my main focus right now,” Rachel said. “I can’t draw at all, so I won’t be doing any sketches, but I am learning to sew. I think it’s important to know more about the whole process of making clothes.”

Nicole Richie and Family Hit the Studio
Venturing out in the Los Angeles sunshine, Nicole Richie was spotted out visiting a Los Angeles studio with her daughter Harlow Winter Kate on Tuesday afternoon (July 22).
An hour later, the former Simple Life star’s rocker babydaddy Joel Madden joined his lady and daughter there - pulling up in his black Audi Q7 SUV before hopping out and heading inside to see his two lovely ladies.
In related news, it has just recently been reported that Nicole, 26, filmed a guest role as a villainous cheerleader on an upcoming episode of NBC’s Chuck - due to air in the autumn.
On Miss Richie’s guest spot, Chuck executive producer Josh Schwartz told People magazine: “She was really into the action. She was like, ‘how much am I allowed to kick, and when can I start kicking it?’ She came really prepared.”
“She was just really sweet. Everyone really enjoyed working with her,” Schwartz added.

Megan Fox: Transformers Hottie
The first installment of “Transformers” was a mega hit, thanks, in part, to Megan Fox’s hotness. So it’s no wonder that she’s back on the set of the sequel, steaming it up.
The “Jennifer’s Body” hottie was spotted working it on the Venice Beach, California set of “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” yesterday looking rather intense between scenes.
And she looked tough in a printed/layered tank top combo with a pair of belted khaki shorts and some kick-butt leather motorcycle boots.
Slated for a June 26th, 2009 release, “Revenge of the Fallen” boasts a killer cast, including Shia LaBeouf, Tyrese Gibson, Rainn Wilson, and Fergie’s man Josh Duhamel.

Heather Locklear: Released From Treatment
Back on June 19th, she checked herself into an Arizona rehab facility for treatment of anxiety and depression. And four weeks later, Heather Locklear feels like a new woman.
The “Melrose Place” starlet is said to be doing well following a month under doctors’ care during which she received therapeutic spa treatments, did a bit of horseback riding, and spent quality time alone. She also received two visits from boyfriend Jack Wagner.
A close friend told press, “Heather’s feeling really great. And she looks beautiful, just radiant. She told a really funny story and she laughed from her core. That’s when I knew she was going to be fine. I think that’s the best part of all – it’s so nice to hear her laugh.”
And most of all, Heather is happy to be “back home with Ava,” her daughter with ex Richie Sambora. Ava spent the time with her father, and is now reunited with Locklear.

Rachel Bilson’s Wet Summer Fun with Hattie
Following her Tuesday afternoon lunch at the Mustard Seed Café in Griffith Park, Rachel Bilson decided it was time for a little bonding with her little sister Hattie.
The two Bilson girls were spotted following a trip to Pinkberry in Studio City, and they looked to be having a marvelous time. And apparently it was a hot day, as the “Jumper” actress opted for a soaking wet t-shirt.
Rachel looked cute in a white sleeveless scoopneck top underneath a black vest with dark jeans and some leather sandals as she escorted Hattie around Los Angeles, both ladies smiling for the paparazzi.
Speaking of clothes, Rachel has a new line in the works called Edie Rose for DKNY Jeans. She told press, “This line is my main focus right now. I can’t draw at all, so I won’t be doing any sketches, but I am learning to sew. I think it’s important to know more about the whole process of making clothes.”

As previously reported by the Gossip Girls, Lindsay Lohan made a quick transition from her movie role on “Labor Pains” to another television guest role on “Ugly Betty.” And she was on the NYC set yesterday working hard.

Following the last scene of the day, LiLo and Sam headed into Manhattan for a night out on the town, taking a chauffeured car out to dinner.
And when they arrived at the Waverly Inn, both ladies looked as though they were ready to call it a night as they showed each other affection on their way inside.

BSkyB to launch online subscription music service
MUMBAI: BSkyB has signed a partnership deal with Universal as its first partner to launch an online subscription music service.
This deal would challenge Apple as it direct competitor, says a Reuters UK report. The service is scheduled to launch later this year and will initially be PC-based. Details of pricing, the name of the service and a launch date will be released later.
The tracks on the site would be available in the MP3 format, which would make it easy for many devices, iPods and mobile phones to use the service. Users can download unlimited songs for monthly subscription.
BSkyB will go in for joint ventures to explore its market in Britain and Ireland. The group will also sign up new music companies at a later date, says the report.
In a world where a majority of UK homes have high speed broadband access, consumers will welcome a safe, state-of-the-art service and legal alternative to those services which exploit musicians without compensation," the Reuters report quotes Universal's Lucian Grainge as saying.
Apple iTunes has a market dominance of more than 70 per cent. Some analysts suggest this scenario has prevented music companies from negotiating better deals.
The new service will offer a range of pricing levels, with higher prices allowing for a greater number of downloads.
Universal Music Group is open for similar deals to partner with different groups in different companies, the report says.
"It's clear that there's huge demand for online music and companies like Sky and Universal Music are well placed to work together to meet consumers'demands," says BSkyB Chief Operating Officer Mike Darcey.
Sky will be the majority shareholder, and like Universal, other key partners will be invited to take a stake.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni or MS Dhoni pronunciation (help·info) (Hindi:महेन्द्र सिंह धोनी) (born July 7, 1981 in Ranchi, Jharkhand) is an Indian cricketer and the current captain of the Indian Twenty20 and ODI team.[1] Under his captaincy, India won the 2007 ICC World Twenty20 and CB Series of 2007-8.
Dhoni is an aggressive right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper. Dhoni is one of the wicket-keepers who have come through the ranks of junior and India A cricket teams to represent the national team - Parthiv Patel, Ajay Ratra and Dinesh Karthik being the others. Dhoni, referred to as 'Mahi' by his friends, debuted in the Bihar cricket team during the 1998/99 cricket season and was selected to represent India-A for a tour to Kenya in 2004. Along with Gautam Gambhir, Dhoni made multiple centuries against the Pakistan-A team in a tri-nation series and was selected in the Indian national team later in that year.
Dhoni scored 148 against Pakistan in his fifth ODI match in 2005 - then the highest score by an Indian wicketkeeper. Later in the year, he broke his own record as well as set the current world record for the highest score in the second innings in ODI matches as he scored 183* against Sri Lanka. Dhoni's success in the limited overs format secured him a place in the test team and coincidentally he made his maiden test century in his fifth Test match, when he scored 148 against Pakistan. Consistent performances in ODI cricket through the end of the 2005/06 season saw Dhoni ranked as the No. 1 batsman in the ICC ODI ratings briefly.
Dhoni's form dipped through 2006 as India lost matches at the ICC Champions trophy, DLF Cup, away bilateral series against West Indies and South Africa. A return to form in the home series against West Indies and SriLanka in early 2007 proved to be an inaccurate indicator of Dhoni's form as India crashed out of the first round in the 2007 Cricket World Cup. Dhoni was out for duck in both India's losses. After the World Cup, Dhoni won the Man of the series award in the bilateral ODI tournament against Bangladesh. For the tour of England, Dhoni was named the ODI team vice-captain.[2]
A batter, Dhoni has shown the maturity to restrain his aggressive nature and play a responsible innings when the situation requires.[2] Apart from traditional shots, Dhoni has two very unorthodox but effective cricket strokes. Since his entry into the Indian cricket team, Dhoni's aggressive batting style, success on the field, personality, and long hair have made him one of the most marketable cricketers in India.[3][4]

Personal life
Dhoni was born in (Almora) Uttarakhand[citation needed].His paternal village Lvali is in the Lamgarha block of the Almora District of Uttarakhand. Pan Singh and Devaki Dev, Dhoni's parents, moved from Uttarakhand to Ranchi where Pan Singh worked in junior management positions in Mecon. Dhoni has a sister Jayanti and a brother Narendra. Dhoni had long hair which he has now shortened; he cut it because he wanted to look like his favourite film star John Abraham.[5] Dhoni is a fan of Adam Gilchrist, and his childhood idols were cricket teammate Sachin Tendulkar, Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan and singer Lata Mangeshkar.[6][7]
Dhoni studied at DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shyamali, Ranchi, where he initially excelled in badminton and football and was selected at district and club level in these sports. Dhoni was a goalkeeper for his football team and was sent to play cricket for a local cricket club by his football coach. Though he had not played cricket, Dhoni impressed with his wicket-keeping skills and became the regular wicketkeeper at the Commando cricket club (1995 - 1998). Based on his performance at club cricket, he was picked for the 1997/98 season Vinoo Mankad Trophy Under-16 Championship and he performed well.[5] Dhoni focused on cricket after his 10th standard.[8]
Dhoni was voted as MTV Youth Icon 2006 and he also joins cricketers Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar in winning the award. He is the amazing icon of the Pogo TV amazing kids awards.[9]
Domestic career
Junior cricket
Dhoni was included in the Bihar U-19 squad for the 1998/99 season and scored 176 runs in 5 matches (7 innings) as the team finished fourth in the group of six and did not make it to the quarter finals. Dhoni was not picked for the East Zone U-19 squad (CK Nayudu Trophy) and Rest of India squad (MA Chidambaram Trophy and Vinoo Mankad Trophy). Bihar U-19 cricket team advanced to the finals of the 1999-2000 Cooch Behar Trophy where Dhoni made 84 to help Bihar post a total of 357. Bihar's efforts were dwarfed by Punjab U-19's 839 with Dhoni's future national squad teammate Yuvraj Singh making 358.[10] Dhoni's contribution for the tournament included 488 runs (9 matches, 12 innings), 5 fifties, 17 catches and 7 stumpings.[11] MS Dhoni made it to the East Zone U-19 squad for the CK Nayudu trophy but scored only 97 runs in four matches as East Zone lost all four matches and finished last in the tournament.
Bihar team
Dhoni made his Ranji Trophy debut for Bihar in the 1999-2000 season as an eighteen year old. He made a half century in his debut match scoring 68* in the second innings against Assam cricket team.[12] Dhoni finished the season with 283 runs in 5 matches. Dhoni scored his maiden first-class century against Bengal in the 2000/01 season in a losing cause.[13] Apart from the century, his performance in the 2000/01[14] did not include another score over fifty and in 2001/02 season he scored just five fifty in each season in four Ranji matches.[15] Dhoni's performance for the 2002/03 season in the Ranji Trophy included three half centuries in the Ranji Trophy and a couple of half-centuries in the Deodhar Trophy competition as he started winning recognition for his lower-order run contribution as well as hard hitting batting style.
In the 2003/04 season, Dhoni scored a century (128*) against Assam in the first match of the Ranji ODI trophy. He was part of the East Zone squad that won the Deodhar Trophy for the year and contributed with 244 runs in 4 matches. In the Duleep Trophy finals, Dhoni was picked over International cricketer Deep Dasgupta to represent East zone.[16] He scored a fighting half century in the second innings in a losing cause.[17]
India A team
He was recognized for his efforts in the 2003/04 season, especially in the ODI format and was picked for the India A squad for a tour of Zimbabwe and Kenya.[18] Against the Zimbabwe XI in Harare Sports Club, Dhoni had his best wicket-keeping effort with 7 catches and 4 stumpings in the match.[19] In the tri-nation tournament involving Kenya, India 'A' and Pakistan 'A', Dhoni helped India 'A' chase their target of 223 against Pakistan 'A' with an half-century.[20] Stressing on his performance, he scored back to back centuries - 120[21] and 119*[22] against the same squad. Dhoni scored 362 runs in 7 matches (6 innings, Ave:72.40), and his performance in the series received attention from the then captain - Sourav Ganguly[23] amongst others. However, the India 'A' team coach Sandeep Patil recommended Karthik for a place in the Indian squad as wicket-keeper/batsman.[24]
ODI career
ODI Career of Dhoni. Brown line indicates 10 match average while the orange line indicates career average progressionThe Indian team in the 2000s saw the use of Rahul Dravid as the wicket-keeper to ensure that the wicket-keeper spot didn't lack in batting talent.[23] The Indian cricket establishment also saw the entry of wicket-keeper/batsmen from the junior ranks with talents like Parthiv Patel and Dinesh Karthik - both India U-19 Captains in the test squads.[23] With Dhoni making a mark in the India-A squad, he was picked in the ODI squad for the Bangladesh tour in 2004/05.[25] Dhoni did not have a great start to his ODI career, getting run out for a duck on debut.[26] In spite of an average series against Bangladesh, Dhoni was picked for the Pakistan ODI series.[27] In the second match of the series, Dhoni in his fifth one-day international, scored 148 in Vishakapatnam off only 123 deliveries. Dhoni's 148 erased the earlier record for the highest score by an Indian wicketkeeper,[28] a record that he would re-write before the end of the year.
Dhoni had few batting opportunities in the first two games of the Sri Lankan bilateral ODI series (October-November 2005) and was promoted to No. 3 in the third ODI at Sawai Mansingh Stadium (Jaipur). Sri Lanka had set India a target of 299 after a Kumar Sangakkara century and in reply. India lost Tendulkar early. Dhoni was promoted to accelerate the scoring and ended the game with an unbeaten 183 off 145 balls, winning the game for India[29] - an innings described in Wisden Almanack (2006) as 'Uninhibited, yet anything but crude'.[30] The innings set various records including the highest score in ODI cricket in the second innings,[31] a record that still stands. Dhoni ended the series with the highest run aggregate (346)[32] and was awarded the Man of the series award for his efforts. In December 2005, Dhoni was signed by BCCI to a B-grade contract, skipping the initial C-grade level due to his performance on the cricketing field.[33]
Dhoni bowling in the nets. He rarely bowls at international level.India scored 328 in 50 overs with Dhoni contributing 68 in their first match of 2006 against Pakistan. However the team finished poorly, scoring just 43 runs in the last eight overs and lost the match due to Duckworth-Lewis method.[34] In the third match of the series, Dhoni came in with India in a precarious situation and scored 72 runs off just 46 balls that included 13 boundaries to help India take a 2-1 lead in the series.[35][36] The final match of the series had a repeat performance as Dhoni scored 77 runs off 56 balls to enable India win the series 4-1.[37] In recognition of his consistent ODI performances, Dhoni overtook Ricky Ponting as number one in the ICC ODI rankings for batsmen on April 20, 2006.[38] His reign lasted just a week as Adam Gilchrist's performance against Bangladesh moved him to the top spot.[39]
Two canceled series in Sri Lanka, one due to the withdrawal of South Africa from the Unitech Cup due to security concerns[40] and the replacement 3-match ODI bilateral series against Sri Lanka washed due to rain,[41] was India's prelude to another disappointing tournament - DLF Cup 2006-07. Dhoni scored 43 runs as the team lost twice in three games and did not qualify for the finals. India's lack of preparation showed in the 2006 ICC Champions Trophy as they lost to West Indies and Australia, though Dhoni scored an half-century against West Indies. The story of the ODI series in South Africa was the same for both Dhoni and India as Dhoni scored 139 runs in 4 matches and India lost the series 4-0. From the start of the WI ODI series, Dhoni had played 16 matches, hit just two fifties and averaged 25.93. Dhoni received criticism on his wicket keeping technique from former wicketkeeper Syed Kirmani.[42]
Preparations for the 2007 Cricket World Cup improved as India recorded identical 3-1 victories over West Indies and Sri Lanka and Dhoni had averages in excess of 100 in both these series. However, India unexpectedly crashed out the World Cup after losses to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Dhoni was out for a duck in both these matches and scored 29 runs in the whole tournament. Dhoni put behind his disappointment in the World cup by scoring 91* against Bangladesh after India were left in a tight spot earlier in the run-chase. Dhoni was declared the man of the match for his performance, his fourth in ODI cricket. He was also later adjudged the man of the series after the third game of the series was washed away. Dhoni had a good Afro-Asia Cup, getting 174 runs in 3 matches at an average of 87.00, with a blitzkrieg 139 not out of 97 balls, a Man Of The Match innings, in the 3rd ODI.
Dhoni was nominated as the vice-captain of the ODI team for the series against South Africa in Ireland and the subsequent India-England 7-match ODI series.[2] Dhoni, who received a 'B' grade contract in December 2005, was awarded an 'A' grade contract in June 2007. And also he was elected as captain of Indian Twenty-20 Cricket Team for the World Twenty20 in September 2007. On 2 September 2007 Mahendra Singh Dhoni equalled his idol Adam Gilchrist's international record for the most dismissals in an innings in ODI by catching 5 English players and stumping one.[43] He led India to the ICC World Twenty 20 trophy in South Africa with a victory over arch rivals Pakistan in an intensely fought final on 24 September 2007, and became the second Indian captain to have won a World cup in any form of cricket, after Kapil Dev.
Test career
Test Career of Dhoni. Brown line indicates 10 innings average while the orange line indicates career average progressionFollowing his good one-day form against Sri Lanka, Dhoni replaced Dinesh Karthik in December 2005 as the Indian Test wicket-keeper.[44] Dhoni scored 30 runs in his debut match that was marred by rain. Dhoni came to the crease when the team was struggling at 109/5 and as wickets kept falling around him, he played an aggressive innings and was the last man dismissed.[45] Dhoni made his maiden half-century in the second Test and his quick scoring rate (half century came off 51 balls) aided India to set a target of 436 and the Sri Lankans were bowled out for 247.[46]
India toured Pakistan in January/February 2006 and Dhoni scored his maiden century in the second Test at Faisalabad. India were left in a tight spot as Dhoni was joined by Irfan Pathan with the team still 107 away from avoiding follow-on. Dhoni played his typical aggressive innings as he scored his maiden test century in just 93 balls after scoring his first fifty in just 34 deliveries.[47]
Dhoni at fielding practice.Dhoni followed his maiden test century with some prosaic batting performances over the next three matches, one against Pakistan that India lost and two against England that had India holding a 1-0 lead going into the test match. Dhoni was the top scorer in India's first innings in the third test at Wankhede Stadium as his 64 aided India post a respectable 279 in reply to England's 400. However Dhoni and the Indian fielders dropped too many catches and missed many dismissal chances including a key stumping opportunity of Andrew Flintoff (14).[48] Dhoni failed to collect the Harbhajan Singh delivery cleanly as Flintoff went on to make 36 more runs as England set a target of 313 for the home team, a target that India were never in the reckoning. A batting collapse saw the team being dismissed for 100 and Dhoni scored just 5 runs and faced criticism for his wicket-keeping lapses as well as his shot selections.
On the West Indies tour, Dhoni scored a quick and aggressive 69 in the first Test at Antigua. The rest of the series was unremarkable for Dhoni as he scored 99 runs in the remaining 6 innings but his wicket-keeping skills improved and Dhoni finished the series with 13 catches and 4 stumpings. In the test series in South Africa, Dhoni's scores of 34 and 47 were not sufficient to save the second test against the Proteas as India lost the test series 2-1, squandering the chance to build on their first ever Test victory in South Africa (achieved in the first Test match). Dhoni's bruised hands ruled him out of the third test match.[49]
Indian Premier League
M.S.Dhoni was bought by the Chennai Super Kings for 1.5 Million USD. This made him the most expensive player in the IPL Auctions which was closely followed by Andrew Symonds. Dhoni is the present captain of the Chennai Super Kings team.
Controversies
Walk-off: On the fourth day of the first test match at Antigua Recreation Ground, St John's, Antigua during India's tour of West Indies, 2006, Dhoni's flick off Dave Mohammed to the midwicket region was caught by Daren Ganga. As the batsman started to walk back, captain Dravid declared the innings when confusion started as the umpires were not certain if the fielder stepped on the ropes and Dhoni stayed for the umpire's verdict. While the replays were inconclusive, the captain of the West Indies side, Brian Lara, wanted Dhoni to walk-off based on the fielder's assertion of the catch. The impasse continued for more than 15 minutes and Lara's temper was on display with finger wagging against the umpires and snatching the ball from umpire Asad Rauf. Ultimately, Dhoni walked-off and Dravid's declaration was effected but the game was delayed, and Lara's action was criticized by the commentators and former players. Lara was called by the match referee for explanation of his actions but was not fined by the match referee.[50]
Home Vandalized: After the loss to Bangladesh in 2007 Cricket World Cup, the house that Dhoni was constructing in his home-town Ranchi was vandalized and damaged by political activists of JMM.[51] The local police arranged for security for his family as India exited the World cup in the first round.[52]

ODI records:
On 31 October 2005 Dhoni scored 183* runs of just 145 balls against Sri Lanka in Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. The following is the list of records created during the innings.[31]
The score of 183 is the highest in ODI cricket in the second innings (Earlier record: 153 by Lara). During the epic Aus-SA 2006 match, Herschelle Gibbs came close to the record by scoring 175.
The innings featured 10 Sixes, the most by an Indian in an Innings, and the second highest in ODI cricket (The highest is 11 by Sanath Jayasuriya and Shahid Afridi)
He broke Adam Gilchrist's record of 172 for the highest score made by a wicket keeper
The innings set the record for the most number of runs scored in boundaries (120 - 15x4; 10x6) breaking the record held by Saeed Anwar. The record was broken by Herschelle Gibbs (126 runs in boundaries - 21x4; 7x6) against Australia during his knock of 175.
In the same match, Kumar Sangakkara also made a century, making it the first match in which both wicket keepers scored a century
The score of 183 equaled the record of the highest score against Sri Lanka in ODI cricket set by Ganguly during the 1999 Cricket World Cup.
Among Indian batsmen who have played more than 50 matches, Dhoni has the second highest average.[54] Dhoni's batting average is the highest amongst wicketkeeper in ODIs.
In April 2006 Dhoni was briefly ranked No.1 in the ICC one day Batsmen's ratings.
In June 2007, Dhoni(139*) and Mahela Jayawardene(107)[53] set a new world record for the sixth wicket partnership of 218 runs against Africa XI during the Afro-Asia Cup.[55]
Dhoni erased Shaun Pollock's record for highest individual innings by a number seven batsman in one-day internationals during his unbeaten innings of 139.[56] Incidentally, Pollock record stood for just three days as his score of 130 came in the first match of the 2007 Afro-Asia Cup while Dhoni's century came in the third and final match of the series.
Dhoni also holds the records of the most dismissals by an Indian wicketkeeper and joint International (with Adam Gilchrist) with 6 dismissals (5 catches and one stumping) against England at Headlingly 2 September 2007

America's 12 Cheapest Cars
America's 12 Cheapest Cars
With oil hitting $147 a barrel last week and gas prices averaging $4.10 nationwide, all of a sudden cheap, small, simple cars are much more appealing.
It's something General Motors (nyse: GM - news - people ) has noticed, as evidenced by the company's announcement this week of major cuts to its truck division as part of a multibillion-dollar restructuring. Similarly, Toyota (nyse: TM - news - people ) is halting truck production for three months at its U.S. plants.
While the backbone of the cheap-car market has been, traditionally, first-time car buyers, current gas prices are boosting the market for cars $15,000 and under by 17%, according to auto analysts. From the commuter to the family to the cash-strapped and every type of driver in between, small cars are increasingly popular.
While the low prices do reflect a lack of luxury when compared to sedans or SUVs, there's no shortage of options when it comes to cheap cars. Enough, in fact, for buyers to be picky, and wind up with a quality ride with enough bells and whistles to suit their individual needs.

"There is nothing bare-bones about the Fit," says Ed Kim, director of industry analysis at AutoPacific Inc., an automotive marketing and product-consulting company, referring to Honda's (nyse: HMC - news - people ) $13,950 car, ranked at No. 11 on our list. The Fit is a small car, built with the same production quality as the higher-end $21,160 Honda Accord. It comes standard with an adjustable steering column and four-speaker audio system with speed-sensitive volume control that automatically becomes louder when driving at faster speeds and softer at lower speeds. The car gets 30 mpg for the automatic transmission, and is equipped with multiple airbags in the front, rear and side.
Other vehicles among the cheapest cars available are the Chevrolet Aveo, ranked No. 2 at $11,460; the Toyota Yaris, third at $11,550; and the Kia Spectra, fifth at $12,895.
Varied as the options may be right now, however, that might not be the case in the future. Low-priced cars are often competing with higher-end, inexpensive used cars, the result of automakers building vehicles that are more durable, reliable and longer-lasting, says Alexander Edwards, automotive division president of the market research firm Strategic Vision.
Just The Basics
If price is your only concern, and you want the absolute cheapest new car available in America, it's the Korean-made Kia Rio, which starts at $10,890. At that price you get a five-speed manual transmission with a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine that gets an EPA-estimated 29 mpg. What you don't get, however, is an air conditioner, audio system, power window or power door locks. But you do get a complete airbag system that includes front-seat mounted side airbags and side curtain airbags. To get the aforementioned basic amenities and an automatic transmission, buyers would instead have to go with the Rio LX, which starts at $12,815.
The newest addition to the cheap car market is the Smart Fortwo, a two-seater powered by a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder engine. It produces 71 horsepower and gets an EPA-estimated 36 mpg. Popular in Europe for several years now, the Smart made its debut last year in the U.S. as a 2008 model-year vehicle and ranks fourth on our list. There are only three versions available; the base model Pure is priced at $11,590 with a manual transmission. It is the only vehicle on our list that offers power locks and electronic stability control as standard, which helps drivers better maintain control in adverse situations.
If these cars seem a little too basic, keep in mind that it's impossible to buy a new car for less than about $11,000, says Edwards. About 10 years ago, there were some vehicles available at, or below, that price--like the Geo Metro, which GM discontinued in 1997. Blame the price hikes on inflation and general improvements, such as nicer interiors and added standard safety features. That combination caused the price of cheap cars to increase 20% to 30% since the 1990s, says Edwards.
Safety First
All of the vehicles on the list have standard or optional side-impact and side curtain airbags, but you may have to purchase a higher-priced version if you want additional safety features. However, all of the safety equipment does little to help save lives in the event of a crash involving a small car and bigger vehicle.
On the bright side, though, today's small cars are safer than ever before, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The Toyota Yaris, Smart Fortwo Pure, Honda Fit and Nissan Versa all earned the IIHS "good" rating in front- and side-impact crash tests, making them among the safest cars on the list. The Versa and the Mitsubishi Lancer (the latter earned “good” for front testing but has not been tested for side impact) were the only vehicles on the list to earn “good” in rear-impact testing. The Versa is the safest car on the list, having earned triple “good” ratings in all three areas.
Auto analysts expect automakers to continue making improvements--safety and otherwise--as a new generation of demanding buyers comes of age. (Americans aged 14-30, many of whom have yet to take driver's training, number 76 million, about the same size as the Baby Boomer generation.) But improvements to these cars to suit those buyers will come at a cost: While cheap cars will get better, their prices will creep up the more they're packed with appealing features.
"Generation Y buyers have grown up with technology, conveniences and luxury," says Kim. "They don't want to earn things; they want them now, and they expect them now. Automakers are scrambling to get high-end features into small vehicles."
