MTV Video Music Awards 2008

The 2008 MTV Video Music Awards will take place on September 7, 2008 live from Paramount Pictures Studios. Nominations for a majority of the categories were announced on the MTV program FNMTV after being selected through viewer online voting at MTV.com. The remaining "professional" categories will be chosen by a panel of music industry professionals. Comedian Russell Brand is set to host the event.

Promotion
E! News and Access Hollywood revealed that MTV has recorded a series of commercial ads to promote the 2008 VMA's. The promos will feature host Russell Brand and MTV regulars Britney Spears, Pete Wentz, and LL Cool J.[3][4] Brand revealed on his radio show that he will also record a promo with Slash of Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver.
