PVR PICTURES.
PVR Pictures, a subsidiary of PVR Ltd was floated in 2001 for film production/ co-production and distribution of Bollywood and Hollywood content across Indian theatricals. Film Distribution.

Film Distribution.
The distribution arm of PVR Pictures has emerged as a very savvy film distribution unit which has delivered an excellent mix of films to different regions of the country. Up until now it has distributed over 100 quality national and international movies. While keeping a permanent eye on profitability, PVR Distribution has endeavoured to raise the quality of films offered to the Indian public by giving distribution opportunities to independent films, meritorious directors, foreign films and good regional cinema – in addition to distributing Indian and international box office chartbusters.

Film Production .
PVR Pictures made its production debut in December 2007 with ‘Taare Zameen Par’, a co-production with Aamir Khan Productions Ltd. Distributed by PVR Pictures, the film not only was a smash hit at the box office, it won immense critical acclaim and numerous Awards for its strong story, tight script and emphasis on strong moral and family values.

Subsequently PVR has also released the family entertainment feature ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ and the gritty supense drama, ‘Contract’ directed by Abbas Tyrewala and Ramgopal Varma respectively.

PVR Pictures is in the process of signing several films with diverse directors and star casts. The company plans to release 4-5 films during FY 09 and 8-10 during FY 10.
