Sixth Pay Commission: UCTAG, GUTA to jointly fight for implementation of 6th Pay Commission

PANAJI: Associations of university and college teachers in the state have decided to form a common joint co-ordination committee to approach the state government for the expeditious implementation of sixth pay commission recommendations.

Representatives of University and College Teachers' Association-Goa (UCTAG), Goa University Teachers Association (GUTA) and the Government College teachers met on January 15 at Dhempe College, Miramar, to discuss the issue.

At the joint meeting convened by UCTAG on Thursday, it was mooted that a joint co-ordination committee be formed of the organisations.

The committee will approach the government of Goa and concerned authorities for the speedy implementation of the new pay scales to college and university teachers in the state.

The new scales are as per the recommendation of the Ministry of Human Resource Development notification and the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations.

UCTAG has already met the director of higher education and requested him to do the needful for the speedy implementation of the new pay scales.
