Inaddition to the new pay scales, 6th Pay Commission recomended the revision of allowances also. Most of the allowance are on the basis of grade pay. ( Click here to see new Pay Scale and grade pay ) and will be increased according to the increase of D.A or may be revised after reaching D.A into 50% )

C.C.A (City Compensatory Allowance) has been abolished.

Transport allowance has been increased and the conditions of distance of accomodation within one kilometer from office and the gov't provided accomodation has been removed. It means those who are staying in employee provided quarters and staying within one kilometer from the office are also eligible for getting Transport allowance, if they are not using office provided vehicle to reah office from their residence. New Transport allowance as follows:-

Grade Pay 5400 and above

3200 + D.A thereon for A-1/A Class City
1600 + D.A thereon for other places


Grade Pay 4200 to 4800

1600 + D.A thereon for A-1/A Class City
800 + D.A thereon for other places


Grade Pay Below 4200

400 + D.A thereon for A-1/A Class City
300 + D.A thereon for other places

For Physically diabled employees are eligible to get double the normal rates

H.R.A for A-1 class cities will remain 30% , but for A, B-1, & B-2 cities 20 % and for C and other non classified places

Education allownace increased to Rs. 1000 p.m per child ( Maximum for two children) from Rs. 50 p.m per child.

Miscellaneous Alloances. Cycle allowance, Washin allownace, Cash handling allownace, Special allowance, Night duty allowance and split duty allowance are doubling.
