More Reports: WWE Raw House Show Results (07/25/08) - Youngstown, Ohio

Show appeared to be a sell-out

Started with Layla in the top row and she gave out front row tickets.

It was announced the crowd would text to decide the whether the main event of CM Punk vs. Batista would be Falls Count Anywhere, 2 of 3 falls or no DQ by texting.

Kofi Kingston and Kelly Kelly defeated Paul Burchill and Katie Lea Kofi got a flying kick for the win.

Matt Striker comes out and says that a new WWE wrestler is making his debut tonight against him and his name is Johnny Curtis.

The crowd really seemed to be behind Curtis and the match was decent.

After an intermission Layla comes back out and gets a little girl from the crowd to be a guest manager.

Lance Cade defeats D Lo Brown
Cade hits a spinebuster for the win.

Mickie James comes out with the little girl and faces Beth Phoenix for the Womens Championship Mickie defeats Beth

After Mickie and the girl leave Santino comes out and tells everyone that Beth lost because they have been thinking about their kiss on Raw on Monday. He says he has a plan to make Beth happy. He will be wrestling an opponent tonight and he will force that person into retirement. Out walks Hacksaw Jim Duggan. He gets a huge pop. He says people have been talking to him about retirement but only Vince can decide. The last person to tell him to retire is Santino.

Hacksaw Jim Duggan defeats Santino Marella This match was over in less than a minute. Beth Phoenix carries Santino out of the arena while patting him on the back.

Jamie Noble and Layla come out to the ring. Jamie is begging her for a date. She finally agrees if he promises not to make trouble. He thanks the city of Youngstown for getting him a date. Out walks Kane to a huge pop.

Chokeslam for the win in less than a minute.

Six man tag team Cryme Tyme and John Cena vs. Chris Jericho, Ted Dibiase and Cody Rhodes. This should have been the main event. People rushed the barricades when Cena's music played. He got more pop than Batista did for the main event. It took 10 mins for the match to begin after Cena's music ended. I had floor seats and could see very little of this match because no one would sit down for it. A few fights almost broke out in our section because of it. The crowd was absolutely nuts for Cena.

CTC defeated Jericho, Dibiase and Rhodes.
Again after the win the crowd rushed the barricades.

CM Punk defeats Batista
This was a title match and the crowd voted for No DQ. Like I said Batista did not get near the pop Cena did and CM Punk got less. Most of the match was on the outside of the opposite side of the ring from me so I saw little of it. Neither used their signature move.

After the match Batista hits Punk with the Batista Bomb and walked out.

Great night but if I don't get floor tix in the front row I wont buy them at all!

I'll be at the Canton show in August and will report that one too.

Hello I am Tom Frank. I sat front row ringside at the WWE Raw house show tonight in Youngstown, Ohio. Here is the writeup.

Tony Chimmel is the ring announcer tonight. The first match was Paul Burchill and Katie Lea versus Kofi Kingston and Kelly Kelly in a mixed tag team match. Kingston pinned Burchill after a Trouble In Paradise in a surprisingly good match by all 4 wrestlers.

The next match was Matt Striker versus the debuting Johnny Curtis. Curtis pinned Striker with a backslide in a very boring match. Note from Richard: Curtis actually worked ECW TVs earlier this week.

The next match was Lance Cade vs. D'Lo Brown. Cade pinned Brown after Cade gave Brown his trademark sitout spinebuster after Brown missed a Lo Down in a very, very boring match.

The next match was 4 the Women's Title. Mickie James pinned Beth Phoenix after a DDT. After the match, Santino Marella challenged Hacksaw Jim Duggan to a match for Phoenix.

Santino vs. Hacksaw Jim Duggan: Duggan pinned Santino after a 3-Point Stance Clothesline after five seconds. After the match, Phoenix kissed Marella, then Phoenix picked him up and carried him backstage.

Kane pinned Jamie Noble after a chokeslam in 10 seconds. But its not all bad 4 Noble as he got Layla 2 go out with him.

The next match was a six man tag team match: Chris Jericho (who
yelled at the crowd 4 about 5 minutes, a brilliant promo) Cody Rhodes, and Ted DiBiase versus Cryme Tyme and John Cena. CTC(the name 4 the Cryme Tyme-Cena stable) won after Cena made DiBiase submit 2 the STFU.

The main event was 4 the World Heavyweight Title as CM Punk faced Batista in a Fan's Choice match. The match choices were No DQs, Best 2 out of 3 falls, and Falls Count Anywhere. No DQ won as Punk retained the title after pinning Batista after a GTS. But Batista Batista Bombed Punk after the match and walked out among cheers.
