NAGPUR: Fame eluded her in the beginning but not success. Bhavika’s dreams were shattered when she realised that she had not topped her school in the CBSE class X exam conducted. But she did not lose hope. After she applied for re-totalling of her science paper, the result left her speechless.
Bhavika Roy of Modern School has emerged as the city topper with 98.2% marks. Earlier, she had a score of 97.4%. And since a single mark counts in this race, she was not on the toppers’ list. According to the earlier list, Bhavan’s Mohajit Arneja and Pritha Ghosh (97.8%) had topped the city and Shivangi Mavavala (97.6%) was at the second spot.
Bhavika had scored 94/100 marks in science and after re-totalling of the marks, her score has touched 98. An elated Bhavika said, “I was expecting an overall score of more than 95%. But the science marks left me in a daze, since I knew I had written the exam well. So I decided to apply for re-totalling of the marks.”
