Gone are the days when parents had to depend upon on family members or friends to help them finding the ideal match for their sons and daughters.
With the growth in technology sector, the source of matrimonial services has shuffled between newspapers, agencies, Internet portals, and even television.
Now this time, DishTV, the direct-to-home (DTH) operator, and Shaadi.com, online matrimony service provider, announced a new interactive service called ‘Shaadi Active’ via DishTV’s platform.
The recent association destines to make Shaadi.com’s content, profiles of lakhs of future brides and grooms, available on television.
Through Shaadi Active, subscribers of DishTV seeking a suitable match will be capable of defining the parameters of selection and make their search according to the criteria of age, community, caste, line of work, etc.
Based on such criteria, Shaadi.com profiles will be exhibited on the television and the subscriber will then be able to select the match according to his/her preference and make contact.
To ensure originality, the profiles shown via this new service will be freshened up daily.
According to DishTV, with this affiliation, the company is venturing into offering up "life services".
And moreover, the company should soon expect other services such as realty, jobs, cars, and rentals to be made available via television too!
