Brooke Hogan may be the daughter of world-famous wrestler Hulk Hogan, but she has already pinned down her own celebrity status as a star of VH1's top-rated reality family adventure, "Hogan Knows Best," now in its second season.

On June 12, the


18-year-old will take her boldest step toward individuality yet with the release of single "About Us," featuring rapper Paul Wall. The punchy, rhythmic-flavored track is a testament to living in the spotlight and braving false media rumors. It was produced by Scott Storch, who has helmed projects for Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Mario and 50 Cent.

"I have had the pleasure of producing some of the biggest artists in the music industry. Real knows real. And Brooke Hogan is the real deal," Storch says. "She is an accomplished musician, singer, dancer and actress, crossing four artistic disciplines, which is unheard of in the industry today."


Hogan's spirited and demonstrative debut album Undiscovered personifies the multi-faceted musician's full range of talent. In addition to vocals, Brooke plays guitar and keyboards. She also contributes her own viewpoint as a co-writer of two of the songs. The project will street September 26 on SoBe Entertainment.


Hogan's quest for a recording contract is a primary storyline in this season's "Hogan Knows Best"-as is her struggle for independence against a very loving but strong-willed dad. The show is one of the highest-rated series on VH1, drawing nearly 90 million households.


The network will support its rising star with exposure of the video for "About Us" at the end of June. The clip-which includes Paul Wall and showcases the playful Hogan sporting a custom-made dental "grill" designed by the rapper-was shot over Hogan's birthday weekend (May 5) in Los Angeles under the direction of R. Malcolm Jones, with choreography by Hi Hat, and executive produced by Dave Meyers.


Hogan will begin a series of live showcases across the United States to support her album this summer.

Q & A with Brooke Hogan

NEW YORK - Her parents are in the middle of a tawdry divorce, her brother is in jail and she's cut off contact with her mom because of her mother's teenage boyfriend. It would seem that with all the drama engulfing Brooke Hogan these days, the last place she'd want to be is in front of the cameras.

But the statuesque starlet was eager to sign up for her own reality show, VH1's Brooke Knows Best, making its debut Sunday, despite - or perhaps because of - her family woes.

The Hogans had been depicted for four seasons on Hogan Knows Best (also on VH1) as Hulk Hogan's loving, tight-knit clan. But over the past year, the superstar wrestler, whose real name is Terry Bollea, and his wife, Linda, have had an acrimonious split, while their son Nick Bollea serves an eight-month sentence after pleading no contest to causing a crash that seriously injured his friend.

And if that weren't enough fodder for the tabloids, the romantic lives of Brooke's parents (he has a new girlfriend, she's dating a 19-year-old) have made them fixtures in the gossip pages and blogs.

Despite it all, Brooke, 19, has maintained the bubbly, wisecracking persona that she embodied on Hogan Knows Best. Dressed in a clingy red halter-top, long black gaucho pants and wearing her long blond hair in a ponytail, the striking Hogan (and budding pop star) talked about how she has been coping with the turmoil.

What made you want to do another reality show?

The first four times we did the reality show, I didn't have my stuff together with my music career. So this time, I'm like, all right, I have to start recording an album and using this TV show to my benefit, other than just letting these cameras come into my life to make ratings [laughs]. And plus, I have to admit I really do miss the guys when they're gone, because they're like built-in family now, all the cameramen and stuff. So it's like, "Ah, man, I really hate being followed all the time, but OK, come back. You guys are cute" [laughs].

Do you think the Hogan reality show helped tear your family apart?

I don't think a camera and a cameraman can destroy a family. I mean, they're not part of the family. But I think that it was the pressure of the cameras being there and the pressure of being on guard and not really being able to let your feelings fly, like if you are mad at somebody. Let's just say my parents were fighting; they couldn't just let it all out on national television. So I think it kind of suppressed it to the point where it almost let it explode, but I think that it would have come sooner or later.

Do you think the strain of your brother's problems played a role in your parents' breakup?

It takes two to tango, and it was my mom and dad, they had problems. And it's not the camera crew that tears it apart, it's not Nick's accident that tears it apart, it's just that those things add more stress so I think that to every cloud there's a silver lining, and I think that they almost saved my parents from their marriage going any farther down a destructive road.

How have you dealt with your brother not being around?

It's really, really hard because I feel like our whole lives I was able to protect him ... and now I had to watch him walk away in handcuffs and I couldn't do anything about it. It's hard because he's like my best friend. I mean, I have friends, but my brother is really the one person who I can confide in and talk to about anything. So it's tough because everything that we talk about now is recorded. And we saw what happened with that.

Then last night the “Touch My Body” songstress and her hunky hubby were spotted on their way out of their hotel for a fun-filled evening of Big Apple nightlife.

Mariah looked sexy in a red top with a black cardigan, matching skirt, and a pair of black studded shoes, while Nick sported a black pinstriped suit and a white button-up shirt.

“The X Files: I Want To Believe” Debuts in Hollywood

For all of you Sci-Fi fans out there, last night was a big night at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre as “The X Files: I Want to Believe” held its big Hollywood Premiere.

And X Files mainstays David Duchovny and a very pregnant Gillian Anderson as well as Amanda Peet were all in the house to promote the new flick.

Anderson was joined by her boyfriend Mark Griffiths and looked lovely in a shiny blue satin floor-length gown that showed off her ready-to-burst baby bump.

Meanwhile, Miss Peet wowed the crowd with her sexy spaghetti strap black and silver furry-looking dress complete with matching heels and a pulled-back hairdo.

And adding some testosterone to the mix, David Duchovny looked hunky in a black suit with a black and grey striped shirt and a shaggy coif.

Selena Gomez: Not Dating Nick Jonas?

There has been widespread speculation on whether or not Selena Gomez is dating Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers. And she is going on record as saying ‘no.’

The just-turned-16-year-old Disney sensation recently set the record straight in an interview, telling press that while she was star of the JB video for “Burnin’ Up,” that’s as far as it goes.

Gomez said, “The Jonas Brothers are all sweet. They’re so amazing to me. They’ve become really good friends of mine, but I’m not dating any of them.” And Nick concurs. “Having her [Gomez] in the video is a lot of fun. We had a great time.”

Though she doesn’t have a thing for a Jonas, don’t be surprised to see Selena checking out a LaBeouf… Gomez confessed recently that she has her eye on Shia! “I have a really big crush on him. I want to work with him so bad. I think he’s so cute.”

Amy Winehouse Wants Five Kids

Continuing her efforts to get her career back on track, Amy Winehouse was spotted leaving a recording studio near Islington after a long day of laying down tracks.

And the “Rehab” singer definitely worn out from her workday as she hopped into a chauffeured car with a gal pal, sporting a yellow screenprinted tank top and some charcoal jeans.

Amy recently told press that she can’t wait for her incarcerated hubby Blake Fielder-Civil to get out of the slammer so that they can get started making babies. And she wants at least five!

“Blake and I can’t wait to have kids. I want at least five kids. I want twins. Blake is gonna be the most amazing dad. When Blake was about we talked about it all the time.To be honest, I think kids have got a lot more going on than adults. They’ve got their heads screwed on a lot better.”

She also put to rest rumors that there’s trouble in paradise. “We are absolutely obsessed with each other. We both pinch ourselves daily. It’s unbelievable that the person that you’re obsessed with is the person who loves you most in the world. My Blake is a very doting husband.”
