Carlos Leon Talks About Daughter Lourdes

The rumors of Madonna’s “affair of the heart” with Major League All-star Alex Rodriquez have been in the forefront as of late.

But Madge’s ex and father of her daughter, Carlos Leon, tells press that despite the scandal, things remain drama free with their daughter Lourdes Leon.

“She’s at that point where she can call me and say, ‘Hey Dad, what’s up? What time are you going to get me?’” he says of his 11-year-old. “It’s really cool. We talk every day.” (For the record, he says of Madonna’s alleged affair: “Trust me, that’s a lie. I know for a fact, she wouldn’t do that.")

Leon, who is an actor and a personal trainer, stresses the importance of keeping Lourdes (or Lola as he refers to her as) grounded.

“Look at me and the way I live: I ride my bicycle, I walk, I don’t have a driver,” says Leon. “That’s how I keep her grounded. Her mom does a good job too – she’s not that person that everyone thinks. She’s very laid back and cool.”

As far as discipline goes, Leon says he likes to leave the majority of that up to mommy. “It’s hard for me to be the tough guy with my daughter, maybe I should work on the discipline stuff, but I could leave her mother to do that!”

Amy Adams is Getting Married!

“Enchanted” actress Amy Adams has happily announced her engagement to actor boyfriend Darren Legallo – as the couple are said to be tying the knot sometime next year.

The two met in an acting class seven years ago and Legallo is said to have popped the question with a diamond by French jewelry designer Jean Dousset of Beverly Hills.

“It’s really important to have someone to remind you who you are,” Adams told press. “I’ll run all over but come back to him, and I know who I am.”

“My boyfriend definitely altered my path,” Amy added. “He’s the most generous person I know.”

Paris Hilton Fake Bakes, Gets Pulled Over

With all of the beautiful sunshine hitting southern California as of late, you’d think Paris Hilton would be getting a tan by lying outside. But you’d be wrong.

The former Simple Life hottie was spotted on her way to Beverly Hills tanning salon Portofino Sun Center and Spa yesterday (July 23) for a little fake baking.

Sporting a very Benji Madden-esque all-black ensemble including a zip-up hoodie, with matching trousers and a handbag from her own line, the “Stars are Blind” singer chatted on her mobile phone and ignored the paparazzi.

Something else Paris ignored as of late - the law. According to a report, Miss Hilton was pulled over (again) on Tuesday (July 22) as she wove through traffic on LA’s 134 freeway. But she got off without a ticket after explaining to the police officer that she was lost.

Jessica Simpson Brightens Up the Big Apple

Looking her usual perky self, Jessica Simpson was spotted leaving the Ritz Carlton Hotel in New York City on Thursday morning (July 24).

Wearing a blindingly bright candy apple red dress, the “Dukes Of Hazzard” hottie hopped into an awaiting SUV - heading over to the Steiner Studios.

As previously reported by Gossip Girls, Miss Simpson is in the Big Apple to take part in a very special ad campaign to kick off the holiday shopping season for Macy’s department stores.

Reportedly, Jess will be joining Martha Stewart, Kenneth Cole, Tommy Hilfiger, and a host of other celebrities/designers on a full-scale replica of a Macy’s floor built on a Brooklyn set.

Avril Lavigne Rocks Indy, Plans Dental Work

Continuing along with her US tour, Avril Lavigne performed at the Verizon Wireless Music Center in Indianapolis, Indiana on Wednesday night (July 23).

The 23-year-old Canadian songstress now gets to enjoy a day off before hitting the stage in Hershey, Pennsylvania on Friday, followed by a gig in Hartford, Connecticut the next evening.

Meanwhile, reports from Star magazine tell that Miss Lavigne “dislikes her sharp, vampirelike front teeth so much that she’s getting them rounded off.”

“Avril hates her fangs,” the magazine’s source said. “She is planning on having them filed down by a cosmetic dentist. It’s just something she has always been insecure about, especially since everyone is staring at her mouth when she sings. As soon as Avril finds some time to take off so it won’t interfere with her singing, she’s getting it done!”

Fergie Takes the Stage For Slash’s Birthday

Fergie got down and dirty last night as she helped to celebrate former Guns N’ Roses and current Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash’s 43rd birthday.

Dragging her actor/fiance Josh Duhamel along for the evening in Las Vegas, the Black Eyed Peas frontwoman took to the stage alongside the guitar legend at a concert at Bare Pool & Lounge outside of The Mirage Hotel and Casino.

Following their performance, Fergie hopped off stage - joining her Transformers star hubby as they mingled with fellow party attendees.

As a follow-up to the birthday concert, there’s another party slated for this evening (July 24) at JET nightclub - with a special acoustic performance by Slash followed by music spun by DJ will.i.am.
